Generative AI Chat Terms of Use¶

Welcome to Siemens’ Generative AI Chat (“Chat”). By using the Chat, you agree to comply with and be bound by these terms of use (“Terms of Use”):

1. Information Accuracy: The Chat responses displayed are generated using Generative AI technology for intuitive search. While we strive to provide accurate and relevant information, please be aware that the responses may not always be 100% precise or up-to-date. The AI-generated content is based on patterns and data available up to its training date and may not reflect real-time developments or changes.

2. No Legal or Professional Advice: The Chat responses generated by the Chat are intended for general information purposes only and should not be considered as legal, compliance, financial, medical or professional advice.

3. User Responsibility: Users of the Chat are responsible for independently verifying any information obtained from the Chat before making any decisions or taking actions based on that information. Reliance solely on AI-generated content is at the user's discretion and risk. Use discretion and carefully test and review all code of errors, bugs, and vulnerabilities before relying on it.

4. No use of personal data: Users of the Chat are prohibited from using personal data in the prompts or requesting any kind of personal data from our Generative AI technology.

5. Limitations of AI Technology: Generative AI is continually evolving, and its results are subject to inherent limitations and uncertainties. Siemens does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of the Chat responses, and we disclaim any liability arising from any inaccuracies or omissions in the content.

6. User Conduct: Users are expected to engage with the Chat in a responsible and lawful manner. The Chat must not be used to generate content and/or information that violates any laws or infringes upon intellectual property rights. Moreover, the content generated must not be used for malicious or unlawful purposes. Siemens reserves the right to monitor and moderate Chat interactions to ensure compliance with our policies.

7. Indemnity: By using our Chat, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Siemens, its affiliates, partners, and employees from any claims, losses, or damages arising out of or related to your use of the Chat or reliance on its generated content.

8. Use Rights of Siemens: By using the Chat, you grant Siemens the right to collect, store, and analyze Chat conversations for the purpose of improving the Chat functionality and enhancing the overall user experience. This use includes, but is not limited to, identifying patterns, correcting inaccuracies, and enhancing response quality.

9. Use Rights of Users: Content generated by code generation features of our Chat may be subject to third party licenses, including, without limitation, open source licenses (“Third Party Licenses”) or Siemens proprietary licenses. Subject to your compliance with these Terms of Use and to the extent such granting of use rights (i) is permitted by applicable law and (ii) does not conflict with rights of others (including Third Party Licenses) or Siemens proprietary licenses, as between the parties, Siemens grants you a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free right to use the content generated by code generation features of our Chat. Except for the use rights expressly granted herein, Users shall under these Terms of Use not acquire any title, interest or right in any pre-existing, underlying or independently developed data, information or intellectual property of Siemens.

10. Export Control and Sanctions Compliance: You will comply with all applicable sanctions, embargoes and (re-) export control laws and regulations, and, in any event, with those of the European Union, the United States of America and any locally applicable jurisdiction (collectively, “Export Regulations”). You are responsible for the lawful treatment of any content provided or generated.

    In particular, you will not:

    • access or use the Chat from or in any location prohibited by or subject to sanctions or license requirements according to applicable sanctions and/or (re-)export control regulations, including those of the European Union, the United States of America and/or any other applicable country;
    • or use the Chat for any purpose prohibited by applicable Export Regulations.

1. Website Terms of Use: These Terms of Use supplement and apply in addition to our general website terms of use which also govern your use of the Chat.

2. Changes to these Terms of Use: Siemens reserves the right to modify or update these Terms of Use at any time without prior notice. It is your responsibility to review these Terms of Use periodically for any changes. Continued use of the Chat after any modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms of Use.
